Volunteer sea rescuers since 1907

The Swedish Sea Rescue Society saves lives at sea. They have been doing so for over a hundred years. The organization is run entirely on a nonprofit basis, thanks to membership fees, gifts, and donations.
The Swedish Sea Rescue Society has 2,100 volunteer sea rescuers at 69 rescue stations along the Swedish coast and on the largest lakes, ready to respond in all weather conditions. They also work to prevent the need for sea rescue and to spread knowledge about maritime safety. The Swedish Sea Rescue Society participates in 70 percent of all sea rescues carried out in Sweden, entirely without government funding.
